Word of Mouth / #TeamNun

Recovering the stories of medieval and early modern religious women using all available methods from science and the humanities.

#TeamNun projects integrate research from library to lab —  traditional text- and archive-based historical work, manuscript studies, experimental archaeology, Raman analysis of manuscripts copied and illuminated by women, the study of biomolecules and nanoparticles in the mouths of pre-modern religious women.

We are honoured to be funded by a £1.5M UKRI-AHRC Research Grant (2024-2029)!
